rocky sea day 1

May 2, 2013: Sea Day

Despite going to bed early, I was exhausted this morning. It didn’t help that we’re right under the Bridge, next to the elevators and there were a few huge “BANG”s early this morning. I didn’t feel seasick, but my stomach apparently thought I was sick. After breakfast, the whole morning was a competition between my brain and my body. I would feel like I was going to throw-up, I’d cough for a minute and run to the bathroom, then feel fine a minute later. It was an odd feeling. Luckily, the kid didn’t come this morning so Carly and I distracted ourselves from feeling bad by playing more Skip-Bo. We weren’t quite feeling up to lunch when we got off work, so we went back to the room and napped for an hour. I ended up only having some fruit and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate helped me feel better at least. The kid came this afternoon, we finished the movie, played with model magic and played MarioKart on the wii, while Beth helped Carly with scheduling and making programs for next cruise.

I tried to take another nap this afternoon because I was still very tired, but I was unsuccessful so I ended up reading instead. Dinner was better tonight, I felt more up to eating which was good. I forgot how limited the choices in food on the smaller ships are. Back in Club HAL, we sat around for a few minutes before the kid came up. He only stayed for an hour because his parents wanted to take him to see the impressionist. After he left, Carly and Beth worked on programs while I went through the cut-outs for the theme nights to make sure we had enough. It was an early night again for me, no going out especially since we’re still in Code Red.
