July 12, 2013: Argostoli, Greece
Another late arrival day. We had the usual morning programming, until 11 at least, and then started port day even though we didn’t get there until about 11:45. So, after 11, I was free. I went back to the room and read for a while before going to the Lido for lunch. Jessie was at lunch, I hadn’t seen her since Istanbul so it was good to hang out some again. Because it was a late arrival, she had work to do this afternoon. The rest of Club HAL had disappeared so I decided I’d complete the training that I’d supposedly not done yet, then get off and find internet since I hadn’t been online for an extended period of time since Naples. I stayed a while at lunch, not wanting to go all the way to the training room, then finally got motivated enough to go. Once I got there however, I found out that I’d already done the training, so I just needed to tell the HRM that it was done. Awesome! I went back to the room and got ready to go ashore. Just as I was about to head to the gangway, my phone rang. Jessie had finished work and was given permission to get off! So, we ventured out together to find some internet and reconnect with the rest of the world. It was nice, but next time we’re definitely going to the beach! We found a café and got Sprites and cheese croquets (mozzarella sticks in ball form). It was a nice afternoon, just relaxing and talking to Mom for a while.
I didn’t do much the rest of the afternoon and had a light dinner before work. It was “Brave the Night,” so we went up a little bit early to plan out our activities. The kids were skeptical about it at first, but then they got really into it, especially after we told them they could choose their own groups. Because the last few nights had gotten a little out of hand with the tweens not listening to us, we added a “because we can” section to the scoreboard. The threat of losing points for talking over us kept them quiet for most of the night. They all had so much fun, no one wanted to leave, and we didn’t even finish everything we’d planned to do!
It was formal night, so Meghna and I changed and caught the last few minutes of the show. Jessie and Voirry found us there and we all went up to late night since the three of them had missed dinner. After that, we walked through the Northern Lights to see if anyone was there, but they weren’t so I left to change and Meghna went straight to the OB. It wasn’t very crowded at first, especially considering it was hour back and formal night, but more people slowly came, I got tired though and left early, glad for that extra hour of sleep before a sea day!
